Reviewed May 9, 2022This one continues to grow on me. Love the nose and the initial taste…and then right at the end I get an overpowering oak finish (twin oak I know). If you could dial that back a notch or two it would be great. -

Reviewed November 14, 2021 (edited December 5, 2023)Pleasant nose hits of a superior whiskey Oak, vanilla, caramel everything one can want in a bourbon nothing the slightest bit negative, just smooth and sweet 5/5 Palate follows through mirroring the nose, a really good pour, delicious, proof is surprisingly well chosen and not too low filling my mouth as a good whiskey should 5/5 Finish 4.5/ 5 Overall a great pour / so very well done/ exceeded my expectations ...wonder what is said to be the source of the juice???? -

Reviewed November 19, 2020 (edited December 14, 2022)The color is a golden amber with surprisingly few legs. The nose starts off with a nice rye spiciness mixed with oak with vanilla, brown sugar, burnt caramel and a touch of cherry. The slightest touch of mint comes out as it breathes. The oak is not as dominant as you would think considering the age and being double barreled. The nose offers much more oak while being somewhat rich. It doesn’t quite reach the corners of the mouth, but sticks to the mid palate at the most. Vanilla and caramel offer some smoothness to the amount of oak on hand. There wants to be some rye spice that comes out but it has a hard time getting past the oak. The finish is medium and not surprisingly, full oak creamy oak. It is truly a very good bourbon for those that like theirs full of oak, otherwise you might find it somewhat one dimensional. The aftersniffs are as full bodied as a big beautiful woman. Notes of stovetop stuffing punch you in the pallet while subtle hints of whiteout sting the nostrils. The after after sniffs strongly resemble what I imagine Joe Biden’s aftershave to smell like.
