Jefferson's Reserve Old Rum Cask Finish

Tasty. A little harsh.

Not over the top

Whiskey wash.com: Nose: There’s no pepper or heat in the nose at all. It’s definitely got that sugary rummy quality. Caramelized sugar, butter, fresh crusty bread. Palate: Flavor-forward at the start with marshmallow and fondant, but that dissipates fairly quickly. So very smooth. It tastes like drinking a very fine rum, and not a whiskey. The sweetness isn’t overpowering. FINISH A long finish of vanilla, soft allspice, and toasted marshmallow

Very smooth....but odd finish

Not bad. Not great. Decent sipper.

This one surprised me, maybe because I was not expecting too much, but I like it more than the Very Old. Side by side, the rum notes give it a very mellow, sweet profile. At 45% ABV, I did not need to add water or ice. It went down very well, the finish is not intense, but it finishes well... not harsh, not bitter.
