A lot of chew on the back of the tastebuds - not a sting, a little buzz. Woody, but not much other flavor though. Not sure how much is being influenced by the label and the prestige
Did a blind tasting with Maker’s Mark. Maker’s has more vanilla, sweetness, and floral favor. JB Black has more smoke, oak, and spice with a subtle hint of sweetness and vanilla. It’s smoky but smooth and could be sipped on ice or stirred into a cocktail with ease. IMO Maker’s Mark is a 3.5
