Doesn't smell like a rye, just smells like Jim beam. Definitely tastes like one though, rye spice and cane sugar, with more body than I'd expect. Actually has some richness to it. It's fine, but I actually expected it to be worse.

Pretty good, great price. Decent flavor for an 80 proof. Soft, light spice, with some sweetness.

Nose: Spices - clove & pepper, cherries, caramel, toffee Palate: Vanilla, caramel, spices (same as the nose - clove and pepper!), Maraschino cherries. This is quite a peppery and 'hot' rye. Finish: Short finish. Caramel, white pepper, cherries, a little tannic and dry on the aftertaste I was pleasantly surprised by this rye. Drier than many ryes I've had in the past, vanilla, caramel and big hit of dry spices - white pepper and cloves. Not bad at all for a sub-£30 bottle.

Nose: Cherry, caramelized banana, nutmeg, white chocolate Palate: Vanilla, cinnamon, red apples Finish: Black pepper, cherry It's very smooth and doesn't linger very long after taking a sip, it kind of fades into the background rather quickly. It's a good beginner rye and probably best utilized when mixing cocktails.
