Jimmy's Texas Bourbon
Kiepersol Estates // Texas, USA
This bourbon from Kiepersol distillery in Tyler, TX is named for WWII torpedo pilot Jimmy Hines (hence the goggles on the bottle), "synonymous with freedom." The mashbill consists of 85% corn, 5% malted barley, 5% malted rye and 5% malted wheat. Aged 11-13 months (one month in new charred oak, the rest in first fill ex Port casks).
BourbonProduced anywhere in USA; Mash bill of at least 51% corn; aged in new, charred oak containers.
Cask Typenew charred oak/ex-Port
"Neat trick - mask the youth of the whiskey by dousing it in Port! So what does it taste like? Port with corn whiskey poured into it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but that's not really a bourbon thing either."
