PUNI Vina Marsala Edition
PUNI distillery was founded in 2010 by the Ebensberger family in the foothills of the Italian Alps. Their whiskies are billed as "malts" though instead of only barley, they use a mash bill recipe that also includes wheat and locally-grown rye.
Vina is the premier of the distillery's limited edition wine cask-matured whiskies, aged for 5 years solely in ex-Marsala casks from Sicily. .

Tasting Notes
"Perhaps the interaction with other malts besides barley makes this Marsala finish a bit more unusual than most. The quintessential nuttiness is there, but the saltiness is not. Instead it drinks more like a port finish, with flavors of sticky toffee pudding, prunes and tart berry and cherry jam. It has a rich, viscous feel, but more of that tartness keeps it from tasting treacly. "
