Nose: Bread, oak, vanilla, and a touch of apple. Slight ethanol, but nothing to distract from the nose.
Palate: Classic bourbon flavors with a hint of sweetness. Vanilla, caramel, and oak.
Finish: A warming spice. Pleasant and long. A hint of pepper with sweet vanilla and chocolate. Very balanced.
Thoughts: Definitely solid! Would not hesitate to pick up another bottle if found again.
Nose: Wood, vanilla, carmel
Palate: Spice, cinnamon, and corn that quickly gives way to sweet vanilla frosting midway.
Finish: A medium finish with a lingering heat from that 100 proof.
Lots of comparisons to another single barrel bourbon in the same distillery family A. Smith Bowman belongs to. I don't think the two compare- they are both fine sippers on their own accord. This one brings sweetness but has a good amount of spice as well.
👃 Cherry. Apple. Leather. In that order.
👄 Might drink a little hotter than I'd expect for a 100 proof aged 10 years, but the flavor is nice. Butterscotch and sunflower seeds 🧐
🏁 Walking through a cherry orchard, right? They were like these cherries are dope, and you were like I'ma try that. Boom. Nuff said.
