This is a shy whisky. When the bottle is first opened the nose has some rich fruit chocolate and copper. The taste while viscous is watery the first couple o seconds then a slight serried malt and milk chocolate, then medium peat and smoke finishes off the palette. This whisky however developed in the bottle , bringing; orange, melon, plum, slight banana, fresh cut grass, hay, slight caramel/mint and milk chocolate. The peat and smoke comes more to the front as the bottle goes but most of all the salt, sometimes overwhelming so. The finish is medium to long on a all around great whisky. One of my favorite Johnny Walkers if you like salty smoky whiskies.
