Johnny Drum Private Stock Bourbon

Incredibly, almost sickly sweet on the first sip. Feel the burn quickly which lingers while the flavor mellows to cinnamon burn. Way too sweet for me.

Carmel on the nose. Spicy finish (mild), with hints of sweetened hot black tea.

Need to try again— did not take notes at the time but enjoyed this and another similar priced bottle.

Neat. Freshly opened, non age stated bottle from around 2017. In the glass, deep copper color with long legs. Nose has some heat. caramel, tobacco, red apple, oak, vanilla. Taste is sweet, rich caramel, tobacco and leather, some char and oak, spicy cinnamon, vanilla custard, hints of Christmas cookie spices. Finish is fairly long, with sweet and hot cinnamon, oak tannins, light vanilla and Holiday spice Overall, has some kick, sweet with pleasant flavors. Must have for Willett fans

Such a great pour for the $! I call Johnny Drum my favorite “Summer Bourbon” because it has such pleasant citrus/lemon notes on the palate. Bright oakiness follows before a short-medium finish. File this under “gateway bourbons” for your less-enlightened friends to try!
