Tastes

Thinner, but some good high notes. A slight citrus undertone to the smooth syrup taste, not overwhelming. Feels a little hot, even with a rock, but a pleasant feel. Overall, a little young, but not too bad. A slightly better than every day drink.

Heavy syrup on the start, deepining to a spicier taste, with a large metallic overtones. Burn lingers a good long time, but the overall effect thins out quickly, leaving just the heat. As a Kentucky snob, I can definitely taste the difference, but it's a very good value for the inexpensive price.

Impressively mellow and balanced. Good syrup notes, with notes of cinnamon and juniper. Body is a great balance of thickness. Will not turn off anyone and appeals to Bourbon connoisseurs as well. At the price, it's truly remarkable.

Super smooth. Light sweetness on first taste. Not too burning, much fuller than I expected. A quality pour.

Very buttery opening, with a tinge of spice. Cloying in a good way. Definitely wheated. Goes down smooth with a lot of butter and a short delay until you feel the heat. A good richness, not thin, without being too chewy. I want a little more subtlety, but it's pretty one dimensional. This would be a sweeter cocktail, but solo with a rock, not so bad. I've tasted better for every day (Elijah Craig, Maker's Mark), but would be welcomed by infrequent Bourbon drinkers.

Very "hot" to the taste. A wheaty sweetness follows, not too cloying, Has a honey-like coating on the roof of the mouth, with a hot cinnamon aftertaste. Goes down hotter than expected. Sweet, but not too sweet. Marvelous complex aftertaste, but can't dodge that fiery heat. Tasty!

Aromas are a combination of sweet and oak, with a slight citrus hint. First sip: full body, almost syrup. The oakiness doesn't express as smoke, more of woodiness. The burn hits much later, paired with a slight lemon and maple. The balance is off, too much of the pucker against the supposed smoothness from the staves, which I didn't detect too much of. Enjoyable, yes, but not what I was hoping for.

Very thin aroma, lighter color. Not a lot of body. First taste is very smooth, a bit bland. Once it hits the back of the throat, it opens up with oak, leather, and pepper. Burn hits, then oddly expands, coating the whole mouth. Man, it hangs on for a long while at good heat, lasting over two minutes.

Incredibly, almost sickly sweet on the first sip. Feel the burn quickly which lingers while the flavor mellows to cinnamon burn. Way too sweet for me.

Lots of dark maple flavor here, less sweet but more resonating. Sweet, full mouthfeel that actually dissapates quickly. Flavor is surprisingly thin, but heat lingers. It's like it has a lot of intriguing components, but they don't quite come together.
