Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado Tequila
Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Rested in oak barrels for six months to mature its flavor, Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado is reputedly the first tequila created by the Cuervo family in 1795. Made in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, Casa Cuervo is the largest distiller in the village and distills other brands including Maestro Dobel and Gran Centanario on site.
Tequila ReposadoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged from 2 months up to a year in barrels no larger than 20,000 L. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Reposado translates to "rested".
"Poured into a glass, the straw gold tequila releases a light bouquet of cooked agave, light oak, vanilla and pepper. This tequila has a medium bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel, and flavors of roasted agave, pineapple, oak and white pepper. This is a subtle tequila, with an herbal note toward the finish, before a gentle ending of pepper and agave."
