Kilchoman Coull Point
Single Malt
Kilchoman // Islay, Scotland
Established only 9 years ago, Kilchoman pride themselves for being 100% Islay. This applies to the distillation obviously, but also to the barley farming and malting.
There can be endless discussions about the impact of the terroir on barley and whisky, but for sure Kilchoman is a pure Islay whisky, with peat and character in every bottle. Coull Point is a duty-free exclusive edition that takes its name from one of the landmarks near the distillery.

This is a young whisky but they found enough time for an extra maturation in Sherry Oloroso Casks.

Tasting Notes
"You may laugh at me for being so French, but every time I open a bottle of Kilchoman I smell cheese, old Coulommier specifically. The peat comes straight after that and it takes time before the nose identifies hints of peaches and dry apricots. On the palate, the feeling is surprisingly sweeter with notes of vanilla, lemon curd, raisin, barley and touches of prunes. The peat comes only in a second time along with soft spiciness and is actually very gentle. Overall this is a very decent full bodied whisky that will succeed in pleasing the international travelers."
