(Anniversary barreled date) This is very very close to a 4 but the spice flavor profile is a bit too prevalent to hit that ranking. This is something that I will likely get a backup bottle of.
Exactly what you’d expect from a Knob Creek Small Batch that has an extra 3 years in the barrel. That great Knob Creek flavor - vanilla, caramel, oak - but a bit richer. Still has a good balance of spice. Mellows after ice melts. A solid sipping bourbon, especially for those who already enjoy the standard 9 year or Single Barrel offerings.
I will always have a bottle on hand. The neck pour was a bit sweet. But over time it developed into a nice 12 year that seemed to reinvent itself the longer between pours. But not in a bad way
Caramel, white oak, and vanilla on the nose. Woody on the palate with caramel and vanilla on the back. The finish is more vanilla wafers and creme. Creamy.
