Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch Bourbon

Knob Creek was my gateway bourbon. Can't recall if my first was the 9 year or the NAS version - probably one and then the other. Looking back on everything, I'm glad they were able to bring back the 9 year age statement. All-in-all, this is very good - a cut above. Also, takes a great old fashioned!

Vanilla

Picked up the 1.75 L bottle at Costco, with pretty high expectations. My last recent Knob Creek experience was very good, so I was looking forward to enjoying this bottle. But my last Knob Creek must have been a different brand than this 9-year, as I recalled it being much better. This is a decent bourbon, at a very good price for the big bottle. But not special. I’ll happily drink it if offered, but probably won’t replace the empty bottle on my shelf with the same.

Pretty solid. Had it on ice after a few beers so palate wasn’t perfect, but I liked it enough to know I would buy it. A little vanilla for sure came through and had sort of a full mouthcoating feel I liked.
