For the proof, it is certainly a fairly smooth sipper. The main difference I perceive is that this has more wood characteristics than the flagship Knob Creek, probably owing to the 9 year age statement that the other no longer has. There is not a particular quality that I'd write home about, other than being a really robust, effectively barrel strength bourbon for a modest cost. Not in the same league as booker's but then there's a $30 difference. This is a great guinea pig to test a high proof whisky if you've never had one before.
