Pinckney Bend Rye and Rested American Whiskey

Rye and Rested is 55% rye blended with the Pinckney Bend American Rested Whiskey (80% corn, 15% barley, and 5% rye). The rye is aged in new, standard sized whiskey barrels, where the Rested is aged in new 15-gallon barrels. Every 40 minutes the Missouri pacific railroad passes the distillery, which sits 300 feet from the tracks. This allows the whiskey to experience a “seismic” event.

"Lots of sweet corn and vanilla on the nose. The palate is peppery rye all the way. The light-to-medium mouthfeel lets the spice shine without any over-aging weighing it down. A drop of water opens the whiskey and it starts to show a cherry cough syrup characteristic that may or may not be welcome, depending on your childhood memories. "
