Another really obtainable easy sipper. A little bit of heat, light rye and toasted oak flavors balanced by maple and vanilla.

On the nose: orange, oak, clove, and vanilla On the palate: big oakiness, orange, peanut, big caramel, maple syrup, cinnamon and big baking spices On the finish: nuttiness comes out more, and more caramel and some oaky bitterness With water: more sweetness and especially more orange comes through Overall: reminiscent of the regular 100 proof with more oak and intensity of other notes. Doesn’t drink harshly for 120 proof (in my opinion). If you like the 100 proof, this isn’t all that different, just with the intensity turned up

BevMo barrel pick. Nutty corn dust up front on the nose with a backing of oak, honey, and ethanol. Peanuts and brown sugar are dominant on the taste and they fade into a cloyingly sweet honey finish. Not much to complain about here, for my personal preferences I would have loved for some cherry that I can’t seem to find. The finish lingers for days, with the nutty corn dust popping back up a bit. Really good, especially for the price. I think the ECBP is more well rounded and more in my wheel house. This one is a welcome change of pace though, throwing some more elbows and bringing a nice nuttiness that just isn’t there in the EC stuff. You can’t go wrong picking this up.
