Koch el Mezcal Ensemble
Mezcal Joven
Koch el Mezcal // Oaxaca, Mexico
Much like with cognac, blending is at the heart of this mezcal. Utilizing four different wild and rare species of agave the blender is looking to heighten the drinking experience by keying up certain strengths and balancing out any shortcomings this mezcal might have.
Cirial adds spice and earthiness while Tobalá adds body and sweetness. Lumbre brightens and Tobasiche provides depth and herbal characteristics.

Tasting Notes
"An earthy but playful mezcal with notes of minerals, acetone, lemon, wet dirt, gentle smoke and pineapple. Next the taste of salt, Granny Smith apple, terra cotta, minerals, parsley and celery coat the tongue. This mezcal is not particularly smoky but it is fresh like sea-air and begs to be sipped."
