Blended Malt
Kurayoshi // Multiple Countries
Matsui Shuzo was established in 1910 and has been producing shochu every since. The boutique-sized Matsui Distillery is located in Tottori, a coastal prefecture on southern Honshu in the Chūgoku region of Japan.
Their whiskies are characterized by the pure underground waters from the Daisen Mountains that they use while aging their product. This is a 100% malt whisky, but the whisky was sourced from distilleries in Scotland before being blended with malt whisky from Japan.

Tasting Notes
"A whiff of bubblegum on the nose comes off this young, light whisky. It's light on the palate, with notes of lemon zest, marshmallow, and strawberry, with a bright acidity. The finish fades quickly, leaving just a hint of malt. For the price many Japanese whiskeys are fetching now, it may leave one wanting more."
