KyMar Farm distillery is located in Charlotteville, New York in the Catskill Mountains. With the goal of producing an apple brandy as good as their favorite Calvados from France they ferment, distill, age, and bottle on site. The apple brandy was blended from distillate aged for 2-years on up to 5-years aging. A limited release of 500 bottles.
American BrandyProduced in the US, this is usually referring to brandy distilled from grape-based wine. If the producer uses other fruit, it must be stated on the label. If aged under two years in oak, it must state the word "immature" on the label. Beyond that, labels such as VS, VSOP, and XO mean little as the brands themselves dictate what that means to them.
"Bright gold in color. Intense nose of red hots, waxy apple skins and nail polish with a touch of kiwi, apple pulp, and white flowers. Fairly light bodied but with a welcome heat and just enough sweetness upfront to keep it all very pleasant. Not very complex but with patience, the spice will reveal itself with along with a touch of baked apple pie on the warm and pleasantly long finish. "
