This single malt is one of eight bottlings for Diageo’s 2021 Special Release collection. Each of the whiskeys was bottled at cask strength and selected by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson. With a “Legends Untold” theme for the collection, the brand selected digital illustrator Ken Taylor to design the packaging.
Lagavulin 26 Year was matured in PX and oloroso seasoned first-fill casks. It was bottled at 44.2% ABV. .

Tasting Notes
"A very generous nose of baked apples, smoked herbs, and seaside brine gives way to more savory herbal notes on the palate (think bay leaf, thyme and rosemary). The texture is rich and creamy, with sweet flavors of vanilla icing, golden apples, ripe pears, dried figs, and orange zest. These all mingle with cereal notes that remind of freshly baked brown bread, cinnamon, clove, and marzipan. A sweet, beachy smoke envelopes the flavor experience, fizzling out on the palate into the elegant finish, which graciously allows more of the chocolatey and spicy textures to come through. "
