Lagavulin Distillers Edition

A absolutely lovely Lagavulin with the sweet PX casks balancing the smoke and rounding out this whiskey beautifully! My only wish was that this was a higher ABV… 43% leaves me begging for them to stop holding this back! Nose was a perfectly balanced PX raisen syrup sweetness with the earthy Islay peat Laga is known for. Palate is more of the same but less someky and noticably less salty than the 16 or 8 for that matter. Great fruity finish, hints of wet smoke ash sprinkled in masterfuly. Just missing the light minty lift off the 16 has.

Beter than 16 , and i love the 16 Up front it is easy and slowly delivers the fig, smoke, peat in tha order, 16 has a sharpness that is nice , but long finish and sticky(oily) finish in this one i LOVE.

Sweet, chocolate and notes of rich fruit. End with a nice full taste of peat. Very well balanced. Not as meaty as 16 and more sweet
