This single malt whisky is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for 11 years before being recasked and finished in Caribbean rum casks for an additional 8+ months.

Tasting Notes
"Mossy, earthy peat smoke is present on the nose, but other aromas are allowed to come through such as caramel, bacon, citrus and a touch of chocolate. The body is full with some barrel spices prickling at the edges. Savory smoke flavors are present, but the rum flavors are tough to find. However, the rum seems to contributed to a slightly more sweet Lagavulin than is typical. Still, it's an enjoyable dram. "
