Nose: mossy and earthy peat, a slight rum cake note. Cinnamon, moderate brine, semi-sweet chocolate, a touch of vanilla and oaky char. As it sits a gentle campfire note comes out along with the slightest suggestion of tropical fruit
Palate: smooth yet robust and full-bodied. Definitely has the undergirding sweetness that I've expected with this bottle. It feels a little more muted than I remember. A substantial yet elegant peaty note, a solid helping of chocolate. A moderately influential oak tannin. Vanilla cream and chewy malt. A slight suggestion of coconut
Finish: long. At first a bitter dark chocolate, then it fades to oaky tannin with an earthy, moss covered rock undertone.
Quick hit review.
Good: Mid palette is semisweet with butterscotch, brown sugar, vanilla, mild peat and oak.
Not good: Intially sharp and burning, bitter on the finish.

Very good with notes of smoke, coal, iodine, bananas, golden syrup, molasses, pineapples, rum raisins, passion fruit, chili peppers, strawberries, and cream.
Nose: initially, a very sweet butterscotch that opens up into maritime peat and a moderate sea spray note. Light notes of Cinnamon, clove, and a touch of honey. Confectioner's sugar
Palate: slightly on the viscous side, undergirding heft and sweetness. Vanilla is strong. Almost creamy. Butterscotch is here as well, so is a very light fruitiness that is bordering tropical but not quite there. A moderately strong salinity. Peat phenols and smoke are certainly present but take a back seat to the sweeteer elements here. A strong oak tannin sharpness as it transitions to the finish.
Finish: a light ashen note, a lingering sugary sweetness. It feels like the smoke most noticeable here.
