Lagavulin The Ink of Legends is one of eight bottlings for DIAGEO'S 2023 Special Releases collection which has a theme of "Spirited Xchange"— celebrating the journey of Scotch, countries and cultures around the world. Selected by Master Blender Dr. Stuart Morrison, the whisky here was finished in a combination of Don Julio Añejo Tequila casks.
Bottled at 56.4% ABV, it's available in limited quantities in the US beginning October 2023. (SRP $170).

Tasting Notes
"The nose is a pleasantly fiery mix of smoked ham, burning rosemary, and flaming autumn leaf pile with fruity overtones of raspberry and blueberry. The peatiness on the palate is surprisingly mellower than the nose would suggest, with the smoky, meaty flavors integrating with those of dark chocolate, grapefruit peel, leather, savory herbs, and orange blossom florals. The finish is long, balanced, and doesn't feel too heavy or rich despite all the different flavor components. "
