Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength (Batch 9)

Brine, toffee, vanilla, stewed apples, citrus, cinnamon, bonfire, asphalt, rubber, berry, tobacco, pepper. More medicinal and smoky on the palate. Such a great whisky. I like this one better than batch 12, as it comes across like there are some oloroso casks in the mix, although I had thought these were all ex-bourbon casks. Whatever the case, batch 9 shows more complexity than 12, but both awesome.

I love the smell

I pretty much love any scotch that tastes like there’s a forest fire in my mouth.

A challenging taste. Peaty, but overly so. Notes of brine and tobacco. I had this with a ribeye, which made sense. I enjoyed it more when I added a splash of water and some rocks

Smooth strong peat flavior and smell

Big peaty slap in the face

So smooth. Bonfire smoke notes. Malty focus.

Peated and a lil bit smokey but smooth in taste.

Regular 10 is better for the money but this is great.
