Lots of fruity sweetness on the front palate and then just eases into classic laphroaig peat with nice notes of the wood coming through, lovely long finish. Nice and full bodied too with minimal alcohol burn. Very very smooth to drink.
nose - smoked oak, citrus
body - ashy smoky, acidity and saltiness shines through to tamp the other flavors creating a wonderfully balanced body, medium-thick
finish- finish lingers and brine becomes more prominent over time
Not for me at all. It is well crafted, in a technical sense, but the finished flavor is so overblown, so perversely peaty, so off the chart char that it becomes the scotch equivalent of a hot pepper eating contest. It's a hot oil fire slathered in charred fish sauce.
