I know this is a highly popular scotch among many, Personally I am just not a big fan of the peat and smoke. To me, the LQC has a medicinal smell with a bit of smoke, and is just a bit too "earthy" for my tastes. For folks that are a fan of the Islay region, you would enjoy this one. I am more of a Speyside and Highland guy.

Harsh at first. Will see how it goes.
***tried again yesterday, at our cottage. Was splitting wood and remembered I had this poked away in the back of the shed. Sat on a log and had a bit in a paper cup. It was chilled to just above freezing and was quite surprised of my impression. Where it was so cold I got lot of oily, industrial tastes, with a nice bit of peat and sherry... Was enjoyable for sure.... Perhaps it was the ambiance of enjoying it outside on a fall day. I recommend giving the ol Glencairren glass a toss now and then!
