Ledaig 10 Year

Not very smooth

Medium peat and smoke on the nose, also grains, iodine, a hint of lemon brightness. Liquory, peppery palate, with only the faintest sweetness. Long, spicy finish. Good quality, well balanced. Would buy again.

Good everyday smoky variety. Nothing special but great value. Will try to keep a bottle or two around.

I love peated whiskies. I really do. But Ledaig 10y.o. seemed kind of heavy to me and the aromas were like too massive and too sweet at one time. Not that I didn't enjoy it but I have other favourites in the class.

To me, this dram came out of the blue right into my favourites list! It carries a punch but not overpowering, somewhere between Laphroaig 10 and Lagavulin 16 on the flavour profile, but more subtle and with a spicy twist. This one is definitely going to end up in my collection!
