Leopold's American Small Batch Gin
Distilled Gin
Leopold Bros. // Colorado, USA
In 1999, brothers Todd and Scott Leopold founded Leopold Bros. as a brewery based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2001, they began producing spirits and in 2008, they moved their distillery to their home state of Colorado.
With Todd's knowledge in brewing and alcohol production and Scott's expertise in sustainable manufacturing processes, Leopold Bros takes pride in creating eco-friendly products, including their American Small Batch Gin. Each botanical, including juniper, coriander, pummelos, orris root and Valenica oranges, are distilled individually with the base spirit. These botanical distillates are then blended together and bottled at 40% ABV.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma of the gin leans more herbal and earthy and you don't quite get a piney juniper note, which depending on your view of juniper, is a good or bad thing. The other notes seem to rise to the top including a floral and citrus top note. There is a musky, spicy note note as well at the finish which is dry and moderately bitter. Bottled at 40%, but would love to see this just a few degrees higher. Thoughts on cocktails lean towards a Bramble or other drinks using berries and berry liqueurs though other sours will do nicely."
