Tasted May 6, 2022Nose - almost a rum caramel and rye smell. Taste- this rye has some pop, multilayered, its actually the driest rye I've had. It almost has a dry rye bomb (like a sherry bomb but not). Its got tang, numb, pepper and then the sweet strength. An interesting balance. Finish - tangy, peppery rye bomb fades into a numb that stays in your mouth and on tongue for minutes. This rye is wierd and funky, in a good way! I've only had this kind of action with a scotch. It's not for everyone (for sure). But I like it -

Tasted January 12, 2022Smells like dark fruit cake with a similar flavor. Peppered, burned caramel, slightly minty, full bodied and oily but dry at the end. I wanted to like this more that I did, but it was a little too overpowering. Water helps. -

Tasted October 6, 2021True this is pushing the limit when it comes to aging rye, but as a rye fan I still think it’s fantastic. Oak, pepper, & baking spices on the nose with molasses, clove and an intense (almost too abrupt) dry finish on the palette. I get why this could be a turn-off for some, but I’m still a fan.
