Luksusowa // Poland
Luksusowa, Polish for "luxury", is a vodka distilled from potatoes. The vodka is copper column-distilled and rectified before adding water to bring to 40% ABV. The vodka is filtered for clarity.
Unflavored VodkaDistilled from any agricultural product, most commonly grains or potatoes. Typically distilled to 95% ABV. Water is added to bring the spirit down to as low as 37.5% ABV in the EU and 40% ABV in the US. It is usually filtered, often with charcoal, prior to bottling. It is almost always clear and unaged.
"Very neutral nose, sticking your nose in the glass brings the astringency to the fore--best to skip. On the palate, the vodka is medium full and slightly earthy. The finish is sharp and leaves a moderate bitterness. On the whole, not bad for the price. Best to mix rather than to serve neat. "
