Reviewed December 23, 2023Starts off with a grainy taste. You definitely get a hint of citrus thats most likely from the corn mash. The tatse evolves to get sweeter and gives notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and honey. It ends slightly hadsh. -

Reviewed September 6, 2022Nose -- smell reminds me of the inside of a wood shop, freshly cut wood and something that reminds me of varnished wood as well. Not much to note other than this, but with the 1 year age statement I imagine this is likely to smell and taste as young as it seems it's going to. Taste -- starts off pleasant enough, with a touch of vanilla/brown sugar, but this does not last and quickly vanishes into that straight freshly cut wood note and a sharp astringency that is, frankly, not pleasant. I think there is something here that some age and time could possibly save, but in this 1 year aged batch, I think it is best skipped, especially considering the cost. -

Reviewed April 24, 2022 (edited April 25, 2022)The nose is a mix of charred oak and unmistakable astringency. Beyond that, the whiskey is grassy and grainy, though there are some notes of buttery vanilla. The palate fills the mouth with astringency, which is where this whiskey begins and ends. The grassiness and graininess does come through as well, but there are no unique flavors to discover. The finish is short and astringent, and overall is mostly unpleasant to drink.
