Exactly what one imagines an amped up version of regular Maker’s Mark would be. Most all the aspects of regular Maker’s are amplified here. In addition, there is a new, strong spiciness that comes with the cask territory.
Nose: Vanilla, nuttiness, faint woodiness
Taste, Sip: A definite oak or other wood-centric taste mainly, followed by a fairly aggressive spice.
Taste, Chew: The spice cools and down, and you’re left with a more pronounced vanilla and maybe even a cherry note that emerges.
Finish: Spice, oak, and ever the present vanilla.
