Nose: tremendously rich sweet oak, sugary popcorn, and wheat. Like walking into a wooden warehouse with hanging tobacco, and a molasses or toffee-filled confectionary shop that’s baking away. Wow. One of the best noses in bourbon.
Palate: rich and oily, and while the palate is underwhelming compared to the amazing nose, light spices and butterscotch come through
Finish: only a slight bite considering the 55% abv on this bottle. Quite sweet and smooth. A supercharged Maker’s Mark that is now one of my favorite bourbons.
