Tasting neat in a NEAT glass:
Nose presents spicy wood and toasted breads loads of vanilla and caramel after aerating for a few minutes.
Palate offers charred wood spice and slight dark fruits.
Finish hits with heat initially, fading to tingly spice with more hints of caramel.
Nose is chewy caramels. Palate follows suit with sweet caramel turning creamy then finishing with black pepper on the middle and front of the tongue. I don't pick up the fall spices Maker's references in their description. Very good, somewhat simple. Adding ice lengthened the caramel and subdued the pepper. Adding a couple drops of water does the same.
