Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-01

Fruit and vanilla on the nose with a warm and pleasant spice on the palate with notes of caramel, toasted grains, and vanilla. Pleasantly spicy, sweet, and oak finish.

Nose is caramel cherry, oak, pear. Pallet is heavy with vanilla, def get that tobacco they mentioned, candied apple or a caramelized pear. Good viscosity too, doesn’t bite for the proof it is. Finish is about 20-30sec, with a light vanilla oak taste

Note: orange, sherry, pear, smoked caramel, apricot, peanuts. Cherry, fruity. Body: medium-full Palate: baking spice, caramel, vanilla, bowl of fruit. Finish: medium Note: the neck pour and first few drams tasted like five alive but this dram was more smoky with the fruitiness evolving into a more stewed fruit single malt benromach 15 kind of fruitiness but brighter and without the smoke. Good, not great but good enough I wish I’d a tried the first two.

I have become a huge fan of the makers Mark Wood finishing series. I look forward to each release as they have all been excellent and priced fairly. Yes this one is as good as expected. I get cherry vanilla with a creamy mouth feel and a slight burn going down.
