Marauda Steelpan Rum
Aged Rum
Marauda // Multiple Countries
Marauda Steelpan is a blend of rums from Jamaica, Trinidad, and Guyana, crafted in Amsterdam by renowned rum blenders E&A Scheer. The first words on the label are “Drink straight,” and the rum is up to that task.
However, at $35, it’s inexpensive enough for use in cocktails. Per the company, there are no added sugar or additives.

Tasting Notes
"In the glass the Marauda Steelpan Rum exhibits a medium-gold color. The healthy nose first brings classic Jamaican funk, backed up by the traditional Demerara tones. On the palate, it’s a pleasing combination of ripe banana fruitiness that wrestles with darker oiliness. Despite the dark coloring, the characteristics of long aging aren’t particularly present here. The finish is just a bit on the short side. Would benefit by a bump up to 86 or 90 proof."
