Marca Negra Tobalá Mezcal
Mezcal Joven
Oaxaca, Mexico
After a name change and a little rebranding Marca Negra is back and as true as ever to its mission of bringing traditional mezcals to the world. Made at a traditional palenque in San Luis Del Rio using a tiny, rare and wild species, tobalá.
This wild agave is small, low yielding but very high in sugar. They take an unusually long time to mature especially considering their size, however they pack a lot of character and an unmistakable flavor.

Tasting Notes
"Like all good tobalá mezcals it is rich, briny and sweet. The nose is loaded with caramel, mustard, saltwater, walnut shells, mustard, and a hint of apple cider vinegar. It has a rich, decadent body and displays a myriad of flavors such as brown sugar, lemon pith, caramel, strawberries, and chalk and grape skins. It leave a slight tannic drying sensation on the sides of the mouth but is all-in-all quite alluring."
