Smooth but a little too light, with aromas of green apple, pear, dried fruits, light vanilla and caramel hidden in background. Easy drinking but too thin, subtle but not much complex, but still able to identify aromas discreetly. Short finish with little oak and wood aromas.
Drink neat: a little too thin and lighter than my preference, also with short aftertaste.
Drink through ice: more opened fruity aromas with a little more caramel, but still short aftertaste, so not enjoy much.
Easier drinking when comparing to Hennessy VS, which is more aggressive and more oaky, this one is no-thinking-drinking and I thought it might pair well with Salmon Sashimi when chilled.
My WOW part: when I mixed it with coffee!
I brew Brazilian Americano (ice) + Martell VS (2:0.75 oz)...
the result was amazing!!
Brazilian coffee itself has a bold body with cocoa aroma, and mixed with caramel and vanilla aromas of Martell, made it more gentle, with vanilla as background.
The aftertaste was increased (because this coffee bean has a very long finish) with cocoa wood aroma in the end. WOW!!
For the price, it's a really fun cognac to try drinking with many things.
