Meikle Tòir (mee-kuhl tor) is a peated single malt whisky brand released by The Glenallachie. The brand uses mainland peat from St. Fergus in its production as well as locally sourced malted barley from Scottish producers.
The Original is aged for 5 years in a combination of first-fill bourbon, American virgin oak, and rye barrels with the spirit coming in at 35ppm and 50% ABV. Introduced in the UK in late 2023, it's available in the US beginning February 2024. (SRP $75).

Tasting Notes
"The aroma has moderate intensity of malt, almost ale-like. Not super complex, but it's clean. The palate is where the smoke picks up the pace with an herbal note to the smoke. Feels a bit hot at 100 proof, but not too difficult to drink neat. The spice factor is moderate and there's a bit of a slickness to the mouthfeel along with some nutty malt flavors at the mid-palate. Add just a splash of water to bring out more green herbal notes and less rough feeling. "
