Mezcal Vago Mexicano
Mezcal Joven
Oaxaca, Mexico
Mexicano is one of the rarest agaves, and is in fact indigenous to the area that encompasses Aquilino's farm Candelaria Yegolé.
You might say it's something of a local specialty! Aquilino does include a small proportion (10%) of espadín in this batch to compensate for the notoriously low sugar content of this semi-wild agave.

Tasting Notes
"Extremely pretty, this is all jasmine, raspberries, and oolong tea on the nose, with perhaps just the slightest hint of saffron. Smoky black pepper and tar notes emerge upon sipping, but the overall effect is still quite floral. The nose of this mezcal is quite captivating, but promises a complexity and vividness on the palate that is not quite delivered upon."
