New Riff Balboa Rye
This rye is one of the first of what New Riff refers to as their "specialty whiskeys". It is made with Balboa rye, an heirloom grain grown in Indiana on the family farm of NR's corn farmer, Charles Fogg.
The mash bill consists of 95% Balboa rye with 5% malted barley. It is a bottled in bond expression matured a minimum of 4 years and bottled non chill-filtered at 100 proof.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
