Nikka Whisky From the Barrel

At 51.4% abv, it is a spicy and hot one. But adding some water really open up the taste which I love it. Wouldn't buy again unless on sale.

The higher alcohol content never seems to show its presence like an American whisky which I was surprised by. Lots of citrus, spice notes and chocolate shows up in the long finish. Really nice. Would definitely buy again.

Did not live nearby up to the hype. Tastes like a bad sweet smokey scotch. I couldn’t find a way to write a redeeming review. Sorry Nika

aroma: pears, honey, briney, a bit funky and smokey flavor: pears and honey leads to smoke and barrel spice. Has a finish that lingers and leaves the tongue tingling overall: one of the better Japanese whiskeys I've had and could compete with a lot of great scotches of equal value

Easy on the tongue, gives a small hint of vanilla. All in all a great choice when trying japanese whiskey
