For 2022 Nikka has released a pair of whiskies which focuses on the unique aromas generated by yeast from their two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Each whisky is made using rare, experimental batches from its culture collection.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is mild with a gentle smoke, honeyed malt, light cedar notes and a gentle oak note with toasted nuts. The whisky has a medium weight and a gentle sweetness on the tongue. The barrel spices move to a moderate level here really hitting sensors in the mouth. The malty flavors carry you to the finish which has a bit of cooked pear and light honey. A nice sipper for a spring day."
