Nose: Rounded smell with quite a bit of pear fruit, "soft" smokey peat and hints of iodine and salt. A lovely whisky to just smell, again and again.
Taste: Medium rich, the initial attack is quite smokey, the taste is drier than the nose lead me to think and the aftertaste is long, lingering on for almost a minute, revealing notes of liquorice and tar.
This whisky is like a journey around the distilleries of Scotland in a single dram. Crisp fruit of Speyside, salt of Skye, peat smoke of Islay, heather from the highlands... One of my all around favorites.
