This is the apple orchard strained into a glass: apple cider on the nose, applesauce dashed with cinnamon on the palate, and the lingering finish that adds the slight bitterness of apple skin. It's a forgettable experience, if not an unpleasant one.
This is a wonderful NAS and dare I say feels like the Hakushu (gentle peat, sweet and fruity) getting extracted from a hibiki (spicy and fruity/floral). To me this really can be a really good substitute to both of this and give it a run for it’s Money - unique in its own way.
I really felt that the Oban 14 respectfully (so many swear by this) falls short in many ways but this really is a NAS that lives up.
Well done Oban just please price this right.
