Octomore 14.2
The Octomore series from Bruichladdich features super heavily-peated single malt whiskies. 14.2, the second of three offerings in the 14th edition, begins just like the 14.1 bottling with regards to the barley (100% Scottish-grown concerto malted barley) from the 2016 harvest and the malting (128.9 ppm).
But instead of first-fill bourbon casks, the whisky is matured in first-fill oloroso sherry hogsheads (40%), first-fill Amarone wine casks (16%), and second-fill Amarone wine casks (44%) before being brought together in French oak casks. It's bottled without chill-filtration or added color at a cask strength of 57.7% ABV. Available October 2023. .
