Reviewed July 25, 2024 (edited July 28, 2024)Received a blind sample from a friend. Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Sweet with floral and nutty notes. Palate: Cinnamon, baking spice, and an oaky dryness. Finish: Long length, with heat that fades slowly. Splash: The spicy notes retreat, leaving behind oak and some of the nutty notes from the nose. Overall: 8.5/10 - This is bourbon done right. It would be a 9/10 if the finish didn't fall away so quickly. -

Reviewed January 10, 2024 (edited January 11, 2024)I'm new to all this but I will give it a try. The nose: Starts off really heavy, smells mostly nail polish. After a few minutes I can get hints of vanilla behind it. Taste: Still prominent nail polish, but maybe, more like white pepper. After that ther is a direct sugery sweetness. With a bit of water, the sweet beats the nail polish into submission. With a bit of time some banana emerge. The white peppar lingers a bit. Conclusion: This was one of the first bourbons I purchased, and I dont know what I payed. But I don't think I will get it again. This is mainly due the nail polish start. But I must admit I liked it a lot more as it spent a little more time in the glass.Systembolaget -

Reviewed April 22, 2022Decent nose but nothing outstanding. A bit of a burnt harsh finish but not overwhelming, just nothing that stands out as different or exceptional. -

Reviewed February 21, 2021uncorking- Nose- dry peanut shells, caramel, spice Taste- peanut butter, brown sugar, leather, oak, Finish- hint of bitter closes out the sweetness of nut breads, like a zucchini or banana nut bread. Discontinued in 2018 for the barrel proof I stumbled on this in a tiny small town store and gave it a shot. Glad I did. Inspired a flight fight against EW Bib, David Nicholson Reserve. Was a lot closer than I would have expected. OE 7 won the nose but that slightly bitterness in the finish put it behind EW, and DN Reserve might have edged the top slightly. If I want peanuts I would go EW and if I want just rich caramels and smooth I'd go DNR. -

Reviewed January 1, 2021Different taste then I typically go after, but not bad. Heavy charcoal taste with this one, a little bite to it but not too much. I like, don’t love to be honest but definitely wouldn’t say no to a glass of this. -
