Old Forester 1897 Bottled In Bond

Had at Lee’s Pint & Shell with Augy and Maggie the day we closed on our house!! Better than 1870, but still lacking

Lots of vanilla and caramel. A god starter bourbon

👃 Slightly over-ripe plum. Just a whisper and hair past perfect. Other than that, kind of a nothing burger 👄 The same flavor drifts onto the palate. In the back palate, I can find a bit of fresh baked sugar cookie 🏁 Nice jammy finish. Drinks right at that 100 proof. Doesn't blow your socks off, but it's a solid sipper

Sweet and rich, sticks on the pallet a bit. Slightly above mixer.

Lovely amount of heat. Balanced caramel sweetness with the oak and spice notes. Lingering winter baking spices on the finish. Really delightful
